The water mist nozzle is a nozzle that uses the centrifugal or impact principle to decompose the water flow into fine water droplets under a certain pressure. According to the structure, water mist nozzles can be divided into centrifugal atomization type water mist nozzles and impact type water mist nozzles.

The water mist nozzle type centrifugal atomization consists of a nozzle body and a vortex device. It is composed of type A and type B. The inlet and outlet of the type A water mist nozzle are at an angle of 90°. After installation, the water outlet direction of the nozzle can be adjusted within a certain range. The outlet and inlet of the B-type water mist nozzle are in a straight line, completely fixed, and cannot be adjusted after installation.

The impact type water mist sprinkler is composed of a splash plate, a diverter cone, a frame body and a filter screen. The water mist nozzle type pressure water flow is dispersed into a uniform cone-shaped water mist in the set area by hitting the outer splash plate.

Correlation Index

The layout of water mist nozzles can be rectangular or rhombus. When arranged in a rectangle, the distance between the water mist nozzles should not be greater than 1.4 times the radius of the bottom circle of the water mist cone; when arranged in a rhombus, the distance between the water mist nozzles should not be greater than 1.7 times the radius of the bottom circle of the water mist cone times.

There should be a certain number of spare parts for nozzles of different specifications, the number should not be less than 1% of the total installed capacity, and each spare part should not be less than 5.

The basic principles of layout

The amount of water mist nozzles of the protection object should be calculated and determined according to the design spray intensity, protection area and characteristics of the water mist nozzles, according to the calculation formula of the flow rate of the water mist nozzles and the calculation formula of the amount of water mist nozzles of the protection object.

The layout of the water mist nozzle should make the water mist spray directly and completely cover the protected object. If the requirements cannot be met, the number of water mist nozzles should be increased.

The distance between the water mist nozzle and the protected object shall not be greater than the effective range of the water mist nozzle; the safe clearance of the live (bare) parts of the water mist nozzle, pipeline and electrical equipment shall comply with the relevant national standards.
