A trigger sprayer, also known as a pump sprayer or hand sprayer, is a device commonly used for spraying liquids or solutions. It consists of several key components that work together to deliver the desired spray. Here's a general overview of how a trigger sprayer works:
1.Bottle or Container: The trigger sprayer is attached to a bottle or container that holds the liquid or solution to be sprayed. The bottle typically has a threaded neck or attachment point for the sprayer.
2.Dip tube: Inside the bottle, there is a long tube called a dip tube that extends from the bottom of the bottle to near its top. The dip tube reaches the liquid, allowing it to be drawn up when the trigger sprayer is operated.
3.Trigger Mechanism: The trigger sprayer has a handle or trigger that is connected to a pump mechanism. When the trigger is squeezed, it activates the pump mechanism and initiates the spraying process.
4.Piston or Plunger: The pump mechanism of the trigger sprayer usually involves a piston or plunger that moves up and down when the trigger is squeezed. This creates pressure and forces the liquid up the dip tube.
5.Nozzle: At the top of the trigger sprayer, there is a nozzle that controls the spray pattern and direction. It may have adjustable settings to achieve different spray patterns, such as a fine mist, stream, or spray cone.
6.Check Valve: Inside the trigger sprayer, there is a check valve that allows the liquid to flow in one direction only. This valve ensures that the liquid is drawn up from the bottle and expelled through the nozzle during operation.
7.Seals and Gaskets: Trigger sprayers have seals and gaskets to prevent leaks and maintain pressure within the sprayer. These components ensure that the liquid is effectively sprayed without any unwanted leakage.
When the trigger is squeezed, the pump mechanism creates a pressure differential that draws the liquid up the dip tube. The liquid is then forced through the check valve and up into the nozzle. As the liquid passes through the nozzle, it is atomized or dispersed into a spray, which can be directed onto the desired surface.
